Grape seed oil – elixir of life?

I’ve only recently become aware of the existence of grape seed oil, yet it has been used in European countries for centuries.  From information researched on the internet, it seems that the use of this product could be extremely beneficial to the human body.  The properties that are so good for you in red wine, can be found in abundance at the source.  Apparently the only reason it has not become more widely used, is that the oil yield from grape seeds is much lower than from other oil seeds.

Cold-pressed grape seed oil is very high in anti-oxidant values, much higher than either Vitamin C, or E.  It is very high in Omega 6 and 9 (minimum 84% per volume).  It also contains Omega 3 and natural chlorophyll.  It decreases LDL cholesterol levels in the blood, and at the same time increases HDL cholesterol – thereby preventing heart disease.  It causes atrophied arteries to become supple, which prevents high blood pressure.  Regular use of only one teaspoon per day can prevent certain kinds of cancer, i.e. lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer and skin cancer.  It is said to even decrease the existence of cancer cells by up to 40%.

Grape seed oil is used extensively in cosmetic products, as it repairs damaged skin cells and has regenerative properties that can even heal stretch marks.  And the list goes on…

I was slightly sceptical when I read all this, but decided to try it out as a moisturiser on my face and body – with wonderful effect.  A friend with high blood cholesterol tried it, and found after 12 weeks that her blood cholesterol levels had dropped from above 8 to 4.9!

If you have had positive (or negative) experiences with grape seed oil that you would like to share, please do.  From my side, I want to encourage everyone to start using this amazing product and reap the benefits of a healthier body in no time at all.
