Testimonial
I am Caroline Langenhoven. I was born on
Steneveld near Stellenbosch in the Western Cape. I am the 10th of fourteen
children. My mother was a home-maker and my father was a farm labourer.
I went to school at the age of seven and schooled up to
standard 6. I was fourteen years old when I left school. The reason why I
left school was because my father was the only one who worked for the family.
The money he earned was not enough to keep my sister and me at school.
But I also had my own dreams, fortunately I have learned many
good things in my life. I have learned to be proud of who I am. I like
learning from others and to do my work to the best of my ability. Now I am
learning to read and speak English correctly with the help of the Sima Kunye
programme. I still love to knit, read Afrikaans books and my English is
improving as well. I am no longer afraid to speak with Simonsvlei visitors
and clients.
